Attention Santa Monica property owners! Get up to $49,600 to help complete a required seismic retrofit. Registration has started for the Earthquake Multi-Unit Retrofit (EMR) program. If you own a 5-10 unit soft-story building in Santa Monica that's required to retrofit under our local ordinance, you may be eligible for up to $49,600 to help cover the cost. Check your eligibility and sign up for EMR updates crmp.org/EMR . The registration window closes on September 30, 2026
The City of Santa Monica has been awarded a federal grant from FEMA to assist owners of all buildings identified in City's Seismic Retrofit Ordinance 2537. Grant funding will be used to reimburse property owners with a portion of the design and construction costs associated with qualifying retrofit work.
